Frequently asked questions

What is the expected life of window tint?

Most window films will last at least 10 years or more. Depending on the circumstances on which it is applied. Typically residential window film will last 20 years or more where as commercial applications may have a slightly reduced lifespan of perhaps 10 years, this is due to the fact that commercial applications may be subject to improper care or abuse.

Is there much disruption to my home or office during installation?

Very little disruption should be encountered. Minimal disruption to your home or office is very important to us. If we cannot schedule a time that is suitable to you during normal home/business hours we can arrange to have the work completed on weekends or even after hours.

How much light does tinting block out?

Window tint is available in a huge range of shades and colours. Some films offer over 95% light transmission while other films will block out up to 95%. So we can allow as little or much light that is required to enter a room.

How long untill the job is completed?

Most work can commence within a few days of the job being confirmed. It would be unusual to wait more than one week to have your tinting completed.

Is it possible to comply with WHS (Workplace Health & Safety) requirements with window frosting?

YES. Vision strips are very popular. They are usually 100mm high running horizontally about 1 metre above the ground. This will comply with AS 1288:2006 and/or AS 1428.1:2009. These standards can be very strict and we can provide a copy of the building code on request. This is mostly a requirement for commercial applications.

Can window tinting help to improve glass safety?

YES. Clear safety films are a suitable alternative when bringing standard glass up to a standard. Clear safety film in most cases can be applied to 3mm thick glass or more to comply with Human Impact AS2208. It is recommended that you speak with us about your application.

What are the benefits of window tinting?

Window tint has many benefits including reducing heat by up to 83% and glare by up to 90% from entering the home or office. It can also reduce UV rays by over 99%. Window tint can also be applied for privacy reasons.
